i fell in love with this composition once i got started on it it seems i either prefer the completely obvious and simplified conceptualisations or the extremely subtle images that reveal something very minor. these images generally get less attention because nobody has the time, patience, or interest to look at them. i can't say exactly what i like about it, but when i look at it i feel an overwhelming sense of detachment.
there are no humans, there are no vehicles. the vibrant trees and grass in the distance look as if they're in another world - washed and drowned out by the overbearingly stale and inorganic landscape the the foreground. it looks foreboding, no?
its the perfect balance that gets me about this. It's not something you've set up, it's a complicated composition but it comes out looking natural, poised.... just the right amount of contrast too.
Great work!
Ps. Notice how you used to only do architecture and now you only do portraits it seems?

i read your text before of see the image but i agree with what you wrote. i just differ on one thing, i don't bother to know why i like it so much, and don't try to discretize the details that make this shot so good
It has a really beautiful balance, everything from the sky to the ground.

mixed feelings from me here... it's reminded me of the road trips I take a few times every year from Adelaide to my parents place in north central victoria.
On the way there are so many railside silo's like this you loose count!! your comments rain true... who ever really stops to even look at theese things??? I just didn't realise how homesick one persons innocent picture could make me feel... sadly no road trips for me this easter, no traditional family camp, no long lost friends to catch up with ... just a lonely, miserable me and a stinking city !!
*end of rant*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
